Dear Colleagues and Friends,
It is a great pleasure and honour to welcome you to Vienna for the 14th Biennial Congress of the European Society of Endocrine Surgeons (ESES).
As a city with a long and distinguished medical tradition, Vienna has been home to some of the most influential figures in the history of medicine and endocrine surgery — from Theodor Billroth to Felix Mandl — shaping the foundations of modern clinical practice. Today, this legacy continues in a dynamic and forward-looking academic environment, making Vienna an ideal setting for scientific exchange and innovation.
This congress also marks a special occasion: the 25th anniversary of ESES. Over the past quarter century, the Society has grown into a leading platform for excellence in endocrine surgery, fostering collaboration, advancing research, and supporting generations of surgeons across Europe and beyond. This milestone offers an opportunity not only to reflect on past achievements, but also to look ahead to the future of our field.
The scientific programme will highlight the latest advances in endocrine surgical care, bringing together international experts to share their experience, challenge current paradigms, and explore emerging technologies. We warmly encourage you to contribute your work and actively shape the scientific dialogue of this meeting.
Special sessions will focus on innovation, interdisciplinary collaboration, and the future of endocrine surgery — including the integration of novel technologies such as robotic surgery. Opportunities for young surgeons and researchers will be a central part of the programme, with dedicated sessions and recognition of outstanding contributions.
Beyond the scientific sessions, Vienna invites you to experience its vibrant and contemporary character. From historic architecture to a dynamic cultural and culinary scene, the city offers an inspiring environment to connect across disciplines and generations. Its central location in Europe makes it an ideal meeting point — and perhaps the perfect place to extend your stay.
We very much look forward to welcoming you to Vienna and to celebrating this special milestone together.
Warm regards,
